I couldn’t agree more. Leaders should always be self-reflecting and figuring out where they could have influenced things differently and to greater affect. Without that, we’re not growing.

That being said, it can be difficult to simultaneously look inward towards your own lessons learned while also holding people accountable for their behavior. Leaders need to essentially delegate responsibility and accountability while never diminishing their own portion of it.
