Great perspectives Claire. It’s absolutely true that when someone starts simply agreeing, they’ve stopped being passionate and started being apathetic. Which is difficult to recover from.

It’s the leaders responsibility to invite this discussion. To invite diverse perspectives that bring up heated debates and arguments. Not because people are arguing for their own positions, but because we all want the best for the company. And we often have different views on how to accomplish that. And because invested people need to have a two-way discussion and voice their ideas before they’re willing to commit to the path.

I’d much prefer to have a spirited debate than impassive acquiescence. But I do need to frequently remind myself of this fact.
