Great ideas Alex. Earlier this year I started underlining books and copying the notes into Evernote. Having text searchable copies of my notes on each book helps a ton when I want to revisit a concept or refresh on some ideas. Typing it in also seems to anchor the thoughts better.

I also like using the Kindle app and highlighting through that. Unfortunately, when I don’t need to physically type each underline, I’m much less discerning with the highlighter.

When I finished Purple Cow, over 30% of the book was highlighted, which sort of defeats the purpose…
