Excellent advice. Carl Gustav Jacob Jacobi was a visionary.

I love the idea. Acknowledging and setting these priorities prevents them from creeping into our day.

When I work with my engineers on career planning, in addition to their values, I try to have them identify their sacrifices. What are they willing to give up to achieve their career plans? And what are they not willing to sacrifice?

On a lesser scale, when entering a charged situation, I’ve found benefit in considering what I don’t want to happen. It helps me realize how things could go drastically wrong and helps me temper my approach.

Thanks for the article.
