A great list, thanks Chad.

You called me out perfectly on the topic of Ayn Rand. I’ve often been critical of her, but did so based on limited soundbites or quotes. I’d never taken the time to really read her books.

I read Anthem yesterday and it was eye-opening. It’s easy to get caught up in our preconceptions and not take the time to understand another’s perspectives. Her story demonstrates how her ideas were formed and explains the conviction for which she holds them. And going through those struggles, it’s easy to see why she would push so passionately for those beliefs.

It’s a good reminder that while it’s easy to get stuck in our own bubbles, there are many other experiences out there which logically explain other perspectives.

Thanks for opening my eyes a little.
