I turned 40 years old today. Two years ago, for my 38th birthday, I put together a list of lessons that I wished I’d learned earlier in life. This year, reflecting on my joys and struggles, I put together the below — 40 pieces of advice that I’ve come to learn, often the hard way. Here’s hoping that you can avoid some of the mistakes I made along the way.
